BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Pelton joined the Byers School District in 2019. Prior to teaching in Byers, she began teaching elementary art in Garden City, Kansas and then later in Commerce City, Colorado, in School District 27J. Building relationships with students and teaching all grade levels within the school has always been one of Mrs. Pelton's favorite parts of teaching art. The chance to see the students grow and advance within the broad spectrum in Byers K-12 is a very special opportunity she is always excited about!
Mrs. Pelton earned a Bachelor's degree in Art Education K-12 from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 2001. In 2011, she earned her Master's Degree for Arts Integration from Lesley University. In 2021 Mrs. Pelton became an Art21 Educator. Bringing contemporary art connections to the students is a wonderful way to help them to see the impact that art can have on the world now. Mrs. Pelton also shares about the Art21 learning experiences in the CAEA Art Journal Collgae.
Mrs. Pelton and her husband, Casey, have two daughters. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, anything art, movies, music and sports.
